Strange memory. I don't know why it pops into my head now and then but I have a memory from my childhood of having read/saw a story in which at the end the main character (I think male) goes into a painting and paints the door shut behind him and is never see or heard of again. Poor winterspel was just the recipient of some ravings of mine. I was thinking about the whole eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth thing and I find myself mulling about it further.
